Mega Joker Review - One Of The Best Old School Games?

Net Entertainment are famous for their modern 5 reel slot games, but once in a while they decide to go Old School. That is certainly the case with Mega Joker, a three reel slot with a classic appeal. Although the game was released in 2013 it looks like a vintage online slot.Mega Joker Review - One Of The Best Old School Games?

If classic slots are not normally your thing - our team prefers the modern games, for example - then you may still want to give this one a try as it has a few nice elements which make it appealing.

Pros:
  • Progressive Jackpot
  • Authentic Game-Play
Cons:
  • No Bonus Games
  • Old-Fashioned Format

The Lowdown

Playing this slot game makes you feel like you are standing in the corner of a bar slapping down the spin button on an old-fashioned slot machine. Choose bets of between 10 cents and 2 euros. This is about as simple as slot gaming gets, and what you see is what you get.

How to Play

There are only four buttons to choose from here, namely Spin, Max Bet, Bet and Collect. The Bet button allows you to choose how much to bet. Firstly select either 10 or 20 from the bottom right of the screen. Now when you press Bet you will alternate between 10c and €1 or else 20c and €2.

Not exactly a game to please those high-rollers out there, but handy for the casuals who just want some classic slot gaming action. Max Bet will always select either €1 or €2, and click on Spin to get those reels moving. As for the Collect button, well we will come to that below…

Special Features

Maybe you are starting to wonder: why should I play this old-fashioned slot game when there are so many flashy video slots around? Here’s one very good reason for you: a return to player of 98.9%. In a market where 96% RTP is about average, this is pretty special indeed.

Speaking of ‘special’, there is a game within a game that makes this more than just a standard three-reeler. Every time you win with a payline on the main reels, you will have the option to either collect your winnings – just hit the Collect button to do that – or try to win even more.

There are only five winning pay lines in Mega Joker, so there is a limited range of possible ways to win. There are just six symbols in the base game: cherries, lemons, watermelons, bells, treasure chests and of course those jokers.

The jokers are worth anything between 10 and 400 coins in the base game, rising to as much as 2,000 coins in the second level game. If you choose to gamble and spin on the top reels – and you probably wouldn’t be reading this if you weren’t a gambler! – then the stakes suddenly get a lot higher.

While a line of three cherries gets you 20 coins in the basic game, that becomes 200 coins in the top reels. The second level game (called the Supermeter Reel) also introduces new symbols into the mix: oranges, blueberries and sevens.

Get a winning line on the Supermeter and you get to keep spinning those reels for as long as your money lasts to try and nab an even bigger prize.

As we mentioned before, there is a Mega Joker Review - One Of The Best Old School Games?progressive jackpot prize up for grabs here too.  The actual prize amount is a mystery, but it can be won after any spin as it is randomly triggered.

However, the progressive jackpot is linked to the amount you bet. You will need to be max betting in order to be in with a better chance of winning this one.

Gaming Experience

If you enjoy classic slot games of online casinos then this will be a great option for you. In this day and age, many people prefer the modern video slots. Our team members admire the authenticity of this game, but we started yawning after just a few spins.

There is limited fun to be had without any bonus extras – at least in the opinion of our team. Of course, we are no fools and we know a good return to player when we see one. 98.9% RTP!

This is one of the best value slot games you will find anywhere, so that alone is a great reason to play. Add to that the progressive jackpot game and we have to admit that this game is better than your average classic slot.

We may not be fans of the genre in general, but we sure do know a good deal when we see one.

Awesome addition to any NetEnt casino. With low bet amounts and nice payouts, this game can boost the bankroll pretty quickly. I prefer this game over many of the jackpot slots offered.

I’m a lover of online slots and Mega Joker is one of the reasons why. I loved the overall gameplay and how smooth everything was. I do not expect anything less from NetEnt. Although I feel the visual elements look a bit crowded, the amazing payout more than makes up for it.

In this era of modern slot games where five reels are standard, NetEnt still manages this three reels old school slot. One of the things that set Mega Joker apart from other slots is that you can collect your winning as soon as you win it.

As a fan of classic slots, I love Mega Joker. The game is very easy to play and only has 5 paylines. It is just like the old slots you would find at a casino. The symbols are traditional and you will enjoy many wins even with small bets. The game does have a progressive too, but there are not many added features. I like the simplicity of the game and would recommend it to new players who are not ready to play complex video slots.
